ORANGE CULTURE DEBUTS!

Orange Culture is a new label with the young creative director, stylist and our very own Pisces, Adebayo Oke-lawal !

His words on the collection;

'Heartbreak is never the end but the beginning of something new, something better, BLACK,WHITE AND RED' love always heals''
So this is the first collection from my label, very sentimental collection, as each piece speaks of a period in my life (for example the story telling pieces, which have words written on them, the most VIVID definition of what I mean by each piece being something personal) the collection was inspired by different heartbreak stories, how it seems at first like life would never go on (black), white ( a fresh start) and the red (the only actual healing is to love again),
The collection was built to help those who feel like they would never love again, i wanted them to feel and to know that well it could only get better from here, thus why the ready to wear/minimalism focused collection is called ''the heartbroken'', it is a very relatable collection as I’m sure everyone has been through something of the sort or knows someone who has. The pieces are simple but unique.

Orange culture partnered with Shem Paronelli to create the Animal skin bags for the collection.

Below are some pictures from the label's first lookbook. enjoy :)

Her Summer Essentials

For our women, this summer is about freedom, enough of the body con dresses and the tight skinny pants, take easy steps this season in loose but shape flattering and very comfy items.
My top 10 picks for a fashion forward woman's summer closet.

1. turbans
Show off your beautiful facial features stylishly this summer with a colourful, print or even black turban.

2. aviators
There's something sexy about a girl in oversized masculine aviators, so get a pair and protect your eyes stylishly.

3. african print bikini's
There's not like african print, whether ankara or batik etc , don't just buy any bikini, buy an african inspired bikini this summer, they are hot hot!!! and the prints vary enough to flatter every skin tone and body type

4.brogues
This is one of my favourite trends for women, they give off this amazingly quirky vibe to each outfit, whether worn with a dress or shorts, cool off your feet this summer, in some brogues.

5.shorts
Anyone that doesn't know why these are necessary for the summer, shouldn't be on a fashion blog, luv u all

6. loose blouse
There is nothing like a loose blouse, it has this very vintage feel to it, so asides it being beautifully comfy (some girls say its close to nudity lol), it is also an amazing style find

7. dungarees
I love dungarees this season, so rock a pair of dungarees this Summer; bring out the sexy farm girl (cheesy i know lol) in you.

8 summer dresses
I mean, they are called Summer dresses for a reason lol. From the fabric, to the shapes et al, it works perfectly for the heat and for that fun summer experience.

9.Carrot pants
Instead of doing slim office pants this season, get a pair of carrot pants, they give your legs length, especially when worn with heels, are very chic and can be worn in a 1000 and 1 different ways.

10. COLOUR
everyone needs colour this season. so express yourself; whether its on your lips, or your nails or your clothes. have fun expressing yourself this summer .
P.s: Not everything at once

That's all ladies, cant wait to see photos from your colourful summer experiences, good luck luvs.

His Summer Essentials

The sun is out and ready for some beach time, some colour and well some personality. i actually love winter fashion but i mean summer fashion is more relatable. especially for the Nigerian whose only there on holiday.
So here are a few essentials i think every fashion forward boy or man should have this season.

1. Sandals/slip ons
This summer should be all about ease, so instead of squeezing your feet into actual shoes, let em loose, in amazing sandals or slip ons (e.g espadrilles), they are not just easy to wear but very fashion forward.

2. Shorts
Lose the trousers and show off your legs this season (whether hairy or not :-) ) in a pair of shorts, whether short shorts or just shorts, it works cause its summer.

3. Slouchy Vests
I love slouchy vests, they just have this ease bout em that just makes you look effortlessly stylish, and they can be layered to create a vast variety of looks

4. sunglasses (black)
some black sunglasses for that cool and edgy look this summer, leave the colour to your actual clothes and well your personality.

5. carrot pants
let your jeans rest this summer, instead try on a pair of carrot pants, amazingly comfortable :-) and super stylish

6. charlatan tee
Any cool tee would do, but for me its all about the charlatan tee this summer, it has an amazing amount of character and it exudes a love for all things pop.

7. harem pants
Rock a pair of harem pants this season, especially in ankara (like the orange culture ones) , and bring a spruce of youthful exuberance to your afrocentricity this summer

8. bishop collar shirts
Let your neck breathe this summer with a beautiful bishop collar shirt if a shirt is absolutely necessary, love em.

9. Anything linen
Linen is the best fabric for heat, especially if you have to wear a blazer this season, try to get it in linen, it doesn't attract an unnecessary dose of heat. So buy linen, whether as pants, shorts, blazers or even shirts, this summer

10. COLOURRRRR
Even in the basics, whether pants or just a shirt, this season shop for colour, let your personality shine through this season, coloured pants, blazers, shirts, tees etc, just spice up your summer by colour blocking.

That's all folks, cant wait to see photos from your colourful summer experiences, good luck mehn
